To the Shura family. I wanted to send my deepest condolence. I had the privilege of working with John off and on for many years at the Gas Company. John will be missed by a lot of people here. I worked with John on the Ventura/Ojai project in the 90's. We all worked long hours but having John there made the time slide by. John always had a way to made you laugh with his banter, practical jokes and very quick wit. John was also a gifted story teller...he could paint a picture with words. I will miss him very much.. I pray your family will find comfort as you grieve your loss.

I'm still having a hard time believing he is gone. Will be missed by all and he will always be great memories of my time working with him. John worked with me as a supervisor on the Ventura/Ojai project. The overtime may have been the down payment on the corvette. The most memorial time is when he left a joke on my desk, showing what my supervisor was doing to me. Saw it a year ago when I was going through my thinks. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. RIP John.

John began volunteering at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in June 2011. He was an active trainer of the new volunteers who were assigned to the Emergency Department and his smile and warm disposition always made patients feel comforted. He will be greatly missed and we send our prayers to his family.
