My sincere sympathy to the Litwin family. Bob was a friend and classmate of mine at NTHS. Although I lost track of Bob after a period of time, his well-written obituary tells me he lived a full life and left a loving family. What better legacy could a man leave behind? RIP.

To Liz and the Litwin family,
Very few times in life do you befriend a person that puts all his friends needs before those of himself. Bob was a quality engineer that rolled up his sleeves and got deep into the project with you. His thoughtful demeanor taught us all to lead by example and brought the best effort out of all that worked with him. Baxter was a great place to work because of people like Bob. What a blessing to have had him in our lives!!!
Stay strong Liz,
Your Baxter family shares your loss

Learning of Bob's passing today was quite a shock and very sad news. So sorry for Liz and the family.
Bob was part of my early 80's Process Engineering group at Hyland. Bob was easily one of the best engineers I ever worked with. One of my all time favorite guys. Incredibly capable at handling any engineering task. But that was just part of the story. He was so much fun to talk with. You could always count on him to see the humorous side of things, especially when things got frustrating at Hyland. We had many a laugh because Bob could always twist things in some new wacky way. He was so refreshingly unconventional in his thinking, especially when it came to people relationships. I still smile when remembering him playing "Purple Haze" from his portable tape player stashed in the pocket of his Army jacket right in the middle of an Engineering meeting. He had no qualms about rattling cages. Our poor engineering Director Chase just didn't know what to do! So he let it slide. Bob was just so good at what he did that nothing else mattered.
R.I.P. Dear Bob.

I am very sadden by the news of Bob's unexpected passing and my condolences to Liz and his extended family. We met in 1979 when I was transferred to the Baxter Hyland facility from Baxter Hyland Cost Mesa and worked together (I had the fill-finish focus, while Bob provided the upstream plasma fractionation and filtration support) during the turbulent plant expansion years, then subsequently I worked with him on the Thousand Oaks fill-finish expansion. We were car-pool buddies while he was living in Canyon Country with long discussions about kids, his passion for astronomy, camping with the family, flying lessons and why he was so happy not to be living in Buffalo, NY. I can vividly recall his humor (sometimes a bit dark) and infectious laugh in conjunction with that certain mischievous twinkle in his eye. Rest in peace Bob.

I had the pleasure of working with both Bob and Liz at Baxter. As many have mentioned Bob was very good at his profession and contributed greatly to our business in many ways. On the personal side he was a warm and generous guy who could be trusted. Liz I will be thinking of you and wishing the best for you and the family.

Litwin Family Members,
I just wanted to offer my condolences to Bob's entire family. I had the honor and privilege of knowing and working with Bob at Baxter Bioscience in Thousand Oaks. He was truly a great Engineer and one of the nicest guys a person could ever meet.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Bob has passed. We worked together for five years on Baxter construction projects and had many laughs together. I’ll never forget watching him play drums with his band at a party that he and Liz threw. He was a talented, loving and kind man and I so appreciated his candor, wit and intelligence. He will be truly missed. My condolences to Liz, Katie and the rest of his family.

Bob was my first hiring manager for my first real life job after college. We connected within the first few minutes of first meeting and the level of easy comfortable interaction never left for the remaining dozen years that I got to work with him in various ways. I knew this interaction was not normal for work in the days when work was still a more formal serious place here was my department head walking around twirling drum sticks ( he played the drums) and then giving each of us a drum stick to learn to twirl ( at times have them flying all over the office ). Anytime I screwed up ( and that happened a lot, specially given it was my first real job!) he was always calm and said " I have complete confidence in your ability to learn from this and fix it" then we would smile and walk away. He really was "cool" in many ways. So many memories so many stories and so many friends. Thank you Bob. Rest in peace.

I was surprised and saddened to hear that Bob had passed. As a friend and colleague I always found him great to be with and to work with; I will always remember him for his vests and his outpost in the trailers at TO. I will always remember and appreciate him for the many projects we did together. My condolences to the family, he will be missed.

Bob hired me directly out of college to work for Baxter, where I continued to report to him for most of the 1990's. He and I spent years together in the construction trailer at Thousand Oaks building Cell Culture Suites B&C.
My fondest memories were those times when Bob let his guard down and was just enjoying life--the time he walked up and down the conference room table like a Van Halen video "because he had always wanted to do that", or on our engineering softball team, while all of us urged him to stop at third, he instead kept going and dove head first into home, and was miraculously safe. There was a great picture of that, but darned if I can find it....
My thoughts and prayers go out to Liz and the rest of Bob's family. Bob was a mentor and friend to me, and I will miss having him as part of my life.
