I was saddened by the late news of Bob's passing. Gone too soon. When we last spoke in late 2000's Bob chose not to communicate any more. Perhaps he already knew what was going on.
Bob was originally a friend of my late brother, Frank Blake. They went to school together. His family attended the same church as ours. While they were in high school, they participated in some of the same activities. They were involved in "Up With People". They were both musical.
We used to get together with he and his wife, Diane, Bob started out working for K-Mart. He then transitioned to a government surplus company before finally working for the Simi Valley School District at Valley View Junior High School.
After my brother passed away, we then became closer friends. Bob was our Choir Director for Our Reedemer Lutheran Church. Bob later became a Docent at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
Bob and his Cousin, Steve, in Wichita, Kansas headed the Boeing 707 project that brought the Eisenhower-era Boeing 707 trainer simulator used as Air Force one to the Library. I drove Bob to Quartzite, Arizona to meet his cousin and the simulator on its way to Simi Valley.
Bob was very much into writing Poetry and wrote about many subjects. he brought me copies of his writings.
Bob was devoted to his elderly parents and carried that over to his own relationship.
Bob is very sorely missed.
Good Bye, Dear Friend.
George Blake

Brian McNutt shared this photograph of Bob in front of Lake Lucky at Rancho del Cielo, President Reagan's Ranch. The Docents from the Presidential Library were taken on a tour of the ranch. True to form, Bob always dressed in attire to make the most of the event. He stands next to the pier that President Reagan Built. Bob knew so much about the President; one could learn so much.
