Obituary of Anna-Marie Crispin
Anna-Marie ( Brye / Engh) Crispin, 84, of Simi Valley passed away April 17, 2017 surrounded by her children. She was born October 27,1932 to Milnor and Mabel Brye. She enjoyed life in the small Norwegian farming community of Coon Valley, Wisconsin . Everyone was a friendly neighbor and that is how she lived her entire life.
Everyone she met was welcomed into her life with smiles, hugs and “Nana advice” AKA
“Nana-isms”.
Her early adult married life was spent on Air Force bases in Georgia , Texas and Arizona with her first husband , Morris Engh. Most people who met her were lifelong friends within minutes and still remain friends today .
Her children Mauree, Tracy, Michele, Rohn and Joey can always recall a house full of friends their entire lives- creating many “adopted” family members as years passed.
In 1968 she moved to Simi Valley, California with 2nd husband Joe E Crispin Jr. ,where she again met “lifelong” friends and “added” to her adopted family. She was a Realtor in Simi Valley for over 30 years. She loved living in Simi Valley and watching all the changes that have happened over her 49 years here. As a member of Simi Covenant Church, she enjoyed being involved in many outreach activities and groups. including bible study, women’s retreats ( Zip-lining for the first time at age 80) church social gatherings , her friends from her work at the Alpine Attic, and just conversing with friends with a doughnut and coffee after church. She truly treasured each person she met. “They all give me a different gift”.
She is survived by her Brother Mike Brye ( Shirley) of Coon Valley, WI, her 5 children Mauree ( Brown), Tracy (Jim), Michele ( Dave), Rohn ( Laura), and Joey ( Chrissy): Grandchildren Justin, Amanda, Angela, Jami, Loren, Lindsey, Sayra, Lillian, Haley, Jack, Sherri, Michelle, Fabian, Lilliana and Luis. Great grandchildren Anthony, Nayeli, Bruce, Penelope, Serra, Garrett, Ashli & Austin . Great-Great grandchildren Arleen and Catleya, also many cousins, nieces and nephews and her sister in law Ellie Brye, and daughters’s of long time companion and friend Ray Knight, Helen & Tina and families.
Anna-Marie was a caring loving person and mother to many “adopted” daughters and sons. She touched many lives with her compassionate ways.If you had a problem, she was always willing to lend a sympathetic ear, was never judgmental and served as a prayer warrior for those in need.
She will be greatly missed by all her family on earth and what a joyous homecoming was waiting for her with her family in heaven.
“ Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sins deceitfulness.”
