Hubert “Hugh” Anthony Dubrick
SIMI VALLEY, CA
Hubert “Hugh” Dubrick, 88, of Simi Valley, passed away while in Hospice Care at Simi Valley Residential Care IV on March 30, 2017 due to heart and arterial complications. He suffered from multiple health issues.
Hugh was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 07, 1928 to Mary and Stephen Dubrick. He is survived by one sister, Helena Dubrick, and a large extended family in Chicago.
Hugh, a proud Army Veteran, served in the Korean War 1950-52 and was honorably discharged as Corporal. In 1954 he was recruited by Rockwell International and moved to California. He excelled at his 35 year career as an aerospace engineer.
Hugh and Patsy Meyer married in 1968 and moved to Simi Valley in 1969. Hugh is survived by wife, Patsy, two of three children - Stephen Dubrick (Lynn), Mary Ann Blake (deceased) (Jim), Celeste Lalonde (Gil) and one grandchild Lauren.
Hugh was a devoted husband and loving father. A talented pianist, he loved Big Band music and ballroom dancing. He enjoyed family events, cooking, woodworking, fishing, and sports. He was an avid Cub baseball fan, read extensively, and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles.
He and Patsy celebrated anniversaries with cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico and a trip to Hawaii. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, and love of life.
A Vigil, with open casket, will be held on Wed, April 5, 2017 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran, Simi Valley. Following the service, people will have an opportunity to share their memories of Hugh. The mass will take place Thursday, April 6, 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Church, 2380 Stow St, Simi Valley. Burial follows mass at Assumption Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Rd., then back to the church for the Bethany where food will be served.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Knights of Columbus at St. Peter Claver or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many friends for their condolences, kindness, prayers and support.
