Clara Louise, my beloved Aunt Butchie, was a wonderful mentor and sharer of life. She was so loved that my first baby sister, lost to cancer at age 2, was named for her. Butchie was there for us.
Butchie was in my life from the beginning. I remember her home in Cincy and her move to California, a car trip back to Cincy when I was in my early teens, and the bridal shower she hosted for me. She was a fun loving person with many friends.
She taught me how to sew; we were sewing together the day my sister died. When I planned to marry, it was Butchie who took me to the bridal shop for my wedding gown. We shared a love of gardening and baking Christmas cookies.
In the passed year, our visits were full of memory sharing and looking at her treasured collection of photos. We hugged and kissed good bye, happy to have had our time together. Her favorite parting words, "Love you more!"
And now, I can just imagine the joyous greeting she is receiving from all those welcoming her home. Love you Butchie!
