Obituary of Gary G. Woolridge

Please share a memory of Gary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gary G. Woolridge, 71, faithful resident of Simi Valley, California, passed away on June 23rd, 2016, much to the regret of his beloved family and friends. Funeral service will be held at Simi Valley Community Church on July 9th at 2 pm with pastor Paul Weir officiating. Burial will follow on Monday, July 11th, at Simi Valley Cemetery. Rose Family funeral home will be handling all arrangements. Gary G. Woolridge was born on February 5, 1945 in Seattle, Washington, along with his twin sister Simonie to Ralph and Rosalie Woolridge. After completing high school, Gary attended California State University Los Angeles, graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. During those college years he met and began dating the love of his life, Virginia Marcuson, and they were married on July 19, 1968. He and Virginia were blessed with four beautiful children; Robert, Wendy, Susan, and Paul. While working in the business field, Gary continued his education earning his Master of Divinity degree from Melodyland School of Theology in 1975. During his early professional years, Gary was a dedicated pastor who felt called to do God’s work, a calling that touched the lives of many. Throughout his life, Gary applied this ministerial background to the world of business, founding a tax consulting practice based on trust, honesty, and compassion, three principles that speak to the integrity of his own life. In 2008, Gary received his Doctorate of Philosophy in business leadership, an accomplishment that reflects the life ambition of a man genuinely devoted to serving the Christian ethic, in his own life, and for the betterment of others. Gary’s life reflected a deep and abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. After suffering from a rare form of cancer for the past two years, he gently and peacefully went to be with his precious Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 23, 2016. Gary is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Virginia, after nearly 48 years of marriage, his four children, and six beautiful grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Chloe, Hailey, Sienna, and Emma. He will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his strong faith and commitment to God, his sweet and gentle spirit, and his love for life.
