Virginia Tabor Simi Valley, CA
Virginia Irene (Girard) Taber passed away at home on February 23, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Flint, Michigan on June 10, 1931. She came to CA. with her brother in 1950, where she met her life long companion, Robert Taber Sr. They were married for 60 yrs. until his passing on Apr. 26, 2011. With the help of our fathers caregiver, Ruth Moya and nurse, Irma Barona, she loving took care of our father at home during his illness. These same two people then transitioned to become caregivers to our mother. We can't thank them enough for their love, care and support of our parents during such trying and difficult times. Virginia was a homemaker and was quite simply the embodiment of love - for her home, her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Because her home was such a warm and comfortable environment, it was often the gathering place for her large family as well as kids, grandkids and all their friends. She loved to laugh, dance, entertain and especially enjoyed trips with family to Las Vegas. Virginia is survived by her 5 children, Debbie (Walter) Steinert, Robert Taber Jr., Nancy Jarakian, Gary (Lori) Taber and Cathy (Reno) Petoscia, her 8 grandchildren, Steven (Heidi) Steinert, Mathew (Jennifer) Steinert, Rob Taber, Rick Jarakian, Breanna Taber, Shaelyn Taber, Vince Petoscia and Genna Petoscia and her great-grandchild, Logan Steinert. Also surviving are her brothers, Gerald, Ray (Ronnie) and Walter (Kay), sisters-in-law Francis Girard, Shirley Wright and Louise Mixon, brother-in law John Taber and many, many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her brothers Clarence, Lawrence, Sheridan, Clayton, William, Allen and her sisters Isabell Gustafson, Annabell Roher, Laurene Wright Menard, Wilma Ford and Alice Azelton.
