Obituary of Nancy Alice Cook

Nancy Alice Cook passed away peacefully on October 14, 2015 at the age of 81 at her beloved home in Northridge, CA surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on March 11, 1934 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Joseph William Glasgow and Alice Thoman Glasgow. The family later moved to Iowa City, Iowa where she was raised. Nancy attended the University of Iowa for two years until she moved to California to marry David Robert Cook. Later in life, while working full time, she returned to school and earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from CSUN. Nancy dedicated the next 25 years of her life to her important work as a social worker with Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. She will be immeasurably missed by all who knew and loved her. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, son Donald Cook and her three older brothers Keith, Joseph and Bruce Glasgow. She is survived by her seven children, Sue (Dave) Kratz, Steve (Susan) Cook, Jody Cook, Bill Cook, Kathy (George) Boyett, Karen Cook and Jackie (Robert) Sonnemann along with her grandchildren, Matthew Cook, Jenny (Tom) Bernicky, Christina Cook, Melody Sonnemann, Colin Sonnemann and her great grandson Mason Bernicky. A memorial service will be held at her home on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
