Obituary of Kathleen Annette Teninty

Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathleen Annette Teninty, Daughter, Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Beloved Co-Worker and Dear Friend entered into eternal rest at her home in Simi Valley, CA on April 14th, 2015 at the age of 63. She is survived by her Husband, Gary, her Sisters Donna, Laurie and Peggy, her brother Ron, her Daughters Heather, Nicole, and Dina, her Grandchildren Cole, Blake, Kayden, TyOna, and Lazaro. Kathy was born in Salem, Oregon March 5, 1952. She spent the first years of her life in Independence, Oregon where her grandfather was the chief of police. She often talked about playing in the jail running the tin cup on the rails of the cell. Kathy spent a lot of time visiting her grandparents who lived down the block. The story told is she could often be found jamming the ringer washing machine or playing card games. She and her 4 sisters could also be seen wearing matching handmade dresses her grandmother made. From there her family moved to Tillamook Oregon in 1961. Kathy was quite proud to have lived in the cheese capital. Each time she later took her family there to vacation they would always pay a visit to the cheese factory. After many years clamming, crabbing with her dad and living at the beach they relocated inland to Forest Grove Oregon. While living in Forest Grove she finished out her high school years. Unbeknownst to Kathy her future husband Gary went to the same school. While they didn't know each other at the time her running joke was the reason they didn’t know each other was because he could be found under the bleachers while she was spectating the football game from above. She graduated from high school in 1970 and finally met her husband Gary when her car ran into a ditch. Kathy sought help from a near by party that Gary was attending. Gary rescued Kathy and her car. They ultimately married in 1975. Kathy began a life with Gary and his daughter Dina. Soon after they welcomed their daughter Heather. At this time they had already moved to California and were living in the Los Angeles area. In 1981 their daughter Nicole arrived. Kathy had many close friends. She frequently talked about her work family. Many weekends were spent with her partner in crime Marilyn or hanging out and planning the next party/event with “Rhonda Lou.” Kathy's family and friends knew her to be passionate and feisty. She was the type to “get it done.” Everyone could count on her creative nature to produce awesome events. Weddings, birthday parties, baby showers and more. The flower arrangements she created were amazing. The baked goods delicious. Kathy was the type of person that would be “there” for anyone who needed her. She would lend a helping hand to all who asked and didn’t ask. Traveling was a past time Kathy enjoyed. Camping, going to the beach, road trips to Big bear with the grand kids and sailing off on cruises. She was ALWAYS up for a game of marbles at family gatherings. he famous words, “Your going down!” Kathy’s grandkids were her life and they adored her. She would have said being a grandma was her greatest accomplishment Although she is gone from our sight, nothing can take away from the many lives she touched and the joy that she brought to so many hearts. She will be forever missed, thought of often and always in our hearts.
