Wow....I just found out that my old buddy Wade has passed on. Wade and I were friends from Santa Barbara, dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s. Wade eventually moved down the hall from us, above the Sojourner restraunt. We all would go out to Jimmy's Oriental gardens and get plowed and crawl back up the stairs to our apartments together. Wade was always a good man and a good friend to me. At one point he was running a juice stand in Victoria court and would insist I stop by on my way to work every day for a free smoothie. I helped him overcome a diabetic issue once due to drinking and not eating properly. The last time I saw Wade was at a concert in town and wasn't 100% sure if it was him, now I look back and think it probably was him and I should have said hi...but did not. That was the last time I saw Wade. RIP old friend, say hi to Joel and the rest of our buddies up there....see ya sooner than later I'm sure. Patrick Smitley

Wade was a good friend of mine in Santa Barbara. We met back in 1989, I helped him pick out his first surfboard, we painted my parents house and went on the town all the time. We used to go surfing and camping. I always looked out for him because of his diabetes... even saved him from a diabetic shock once. Miss ya bro... Wade was always up for an adventure. Happy go lucky and friendly. Gone too soon. My heartfelt grievance to your Mama... RIP.

Wade, You were my friend and I'm glad I got to know you. I wish I could have been there for you these last few months. I always enjoyed your company and our drives to the beaches here in Ventura and Santa Barbara. And I always had a good time rolling with you and rocking out to good music together. Everywhere we went the people that knew you always seemed light up and would always be happy to see you. Indeed, everybody loved you and so did I.You, my friend, had a heart of gold. May you rest in eternal peace and love in the hands of our Lord. You don't have to suffer any longer. God Speed my friend forever and ever. Your friend Jose Flores P.S.
