Rudyard Beldner (Ruddy), born to Samuel Beldner and Aida Levine Beldner in New York City and raised in Los Angeles. After graduation (Roosevelt High School '41). Ruddy served in the U.S. Army (World War II), then worked for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power while earning his B.S at CSULA, retiring in1986. With his first wife, Florence Krasnow, Ruddy raised their daughters in West Los Angeles. Ruddy married Eunice Udelf in 1977. Eunice and Ruddy moved to Thousand Oaks. He became a community volunteer- with the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley, Stagecoach Inn Museum and Conejo Valley Historical Society. In 1992, the city of Thousand Oaks awarded Ruddy the Encore for the Arts statuette, and in 2007, CVHS honored him as a Don Triunfo, He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eunice; brother Steve Beldner (Mary Lou) brothers-in-law Gene Udelf (Maureen) and Bruce Udelf; daughters Susan Zander (Harold), and Nancy Hartwell; grandchildren Xion Zoa (Marnie), Danielle Gabison, and Ahmed Hartwell; and great-grandchildren Cheyanne, Jordan, Aaliyah, Vai Ruddy, and Alani. A small celebration of Ruddy's life will be held locally on Nov 9. Donations to CVHS, ACCV or medical charity of your choice will be appreciated.
