Obituary of Carolyn Glodene Byrd

Carolyn Glodene Byrd was born to Lena & Howard Wells on July 15, 1936 in Waco Texas. She was the oldest of two girls Lorene Wells the younger. Carolyn attended J. H. Hines Elementary school. She graduated from A. J. Moore High School in Waco Texas in 1954. Carolyn attended Prairie View College in Prairie View Texas. While in attendance she met Roland Kenneth Byrd and they were united in marriage December 24, 1956. Together this union created two children Kenneth Tyrone Byrd and Erika Diane Byrd-Williams. Carolyn moved to Simi Valley in 1972, where she a homemaker, babysitter for numerous kids while raising her own children & grandchildren. She was a member of First Community Church in Simi Valley for 40 years. Enjoyed watching her kids play sports, but her passion was Las Vegas. She loved going to Las Vegas, or any casino in the Los Angeles area with her husband Roland. Carolyn leaves to mourn and cherish her memories husband of 57 great years Roland Kenneth Byrd, her son and daughter in law Kenneth & Monica Byrd, daughter Erika Diane Byrd-Williams , grandchildren Kiyal Joseph Williams, Haley Diane Williams of Simi Valley. Her sister Lorene Denkins & Uncle Richard & Delores Roberts of Los Angeles. Along with a Host of Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins from various cities in California & other states. Assisting families with the arrangements is the Rose Family Funeral Home and Cremation of Simi Valley. A viewing will be held at the Rose Family Chapel on Friday, June 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will be held at the Rose Family Chapel on Saturday, June 7 at 12:30 PM with the interment taking place at the Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth.
