Glen "Gramps" Slee passed away Wednesday, June 5th while surrounded by family, friends and loved ones at his home in San Fernando, CA at the age of 88 having lived a blessed and full life. He is preceded in death by the woman he loved, his wife Dorothy (Callison). Glen is survived by his son, Roger, five grandchildren; Debbie, John, Glen, Eric and Corey as well as two great grandchildren; Amanda and Bosten who cherished time spent with Gramps. Born in Akron, Ohio on August 9th, 1924 to Loyal Henry and Clara May Slee, Glen personified the graciousness and kindness for which the Midwest is known. An avid sports fan and proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he also served the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department with distinction as Lead Mechanic in a career that spanned the course of three decades. For a man whose hands were as tough as the tools he used to maintain the vehicles he treasured, Glen had the softest heart for those he knew and loved and tenderness for the many pets that he adored throughout his life. A celebration of Glen's life will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery chapel, on Friday 6/14/2013 (12:30) at 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA 91311 with a brunch reception immediately following at (2:30) the Odyssey Restaurant in the Atlantis Banquet Hall located at 15600 Odyssey Drive, Granada Hills, CA 91344. For those who are able to attend, please send your RSVP by no later than Wednesday, June 12th to Wendy Slee who can be reached by email at wendylomeli@gmail.com or by phone at (818) 271-0867.
