Obituary of Melvin Eugene Lamb

Melvin Eugene “Gene” Lamb Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Simi Valley Facility Care Center in Simi Valley, CA. Born on May 31, 1937 in Plainview, Texas, he was the son of the late Melvin E. and Eula Bowley Lamb. Gene served in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge. He went to Arizona State University (ASU) for a Mechanical Engineering degree, worked for Sperry Corporation for 19 years and created his own business called Optofab, a circuit board company located in Phoenix, AZ. Gene lived his life to the fullest, he traveled whenever he could, and he was a forever ASU fan. One thing about Gene is he would sing and dance wherever, whenever he was with his wife, and whenever the mood hit him. He passed on the exact day of their 39th year wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife Aurora Lamb of Simi Valley, CA, his daughters Lisa Crawford and Kathy Wing of Phoenix, AZ; his sons Brian Lamb of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel Lamb of Simi Valley, CA; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and his sister Sue Ellis of Phoenix, AZ. There will be no service for Gene, but his ashes will be brought home to Arizona where his family can celebrate his life.
