Obituary of Kevin Robert Rezak

Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kevin led an adventurous life and enjoyed every moment of it so long as he was accompanied by great music and great food. He was born in San Francisco and raised in Concord, CA as the oldest of three by his mother, Patricia, and his late father, Robert. An absolute whiz at numbers, Kevin was a math major at UCLA and later Cal State Northridge. Upon exploring the Los Angeles scene, Kevin found himself following one of his passions for music and quickly became a store manager through Wherehouse Entertainment Inc. for Music Plus. He set a standard for a suburb level of customer service, later becoming an opening manager of the first Blockbuster Music Superstore on the West Coast. While managing at Music Plus, Kevin met store associate, Hilda Rezak, who would become his wife and the mother of his two children. He later moved with his family to San Jose and then Moorpark, CA where he continued to work in retail store management for more than 35 years at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Pottery Barn, representing loyalty to each of the companies he worked for. Kevin did have a determined work ethic, but it was his passion for music, his delight in discovering new foods and recipes, his joy of all sports and his unbeatable trivia knowledge that defined him, eclipsed only by his love of sharing his interests with everyone around him. Kevin passed at Los Robles Regional Medical Center on March 1st, 2019. He fought two lengthy battles with cancer but never complained. He moved forward with every treatment and dealt with each challenge with grace and an inspirationally positive attitude. He had a wicked and witty sense of humor, and rarely had a negative word to say. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father. He is survived by his mother Pat, wife Hilda, and two children Lauren (21) and Jared (20), sisters Sharon and Alison, five nephews and one niece. Kevin will be profoundly missed.
