Obituary of Julianna Reed
God said Julianna you have suffered enough and it is now time to come home to Bob and I. Julianna peacefully passed away on January 15, 2019 at Simi Valley Hospital.
Julianna entered the world on October 24, 1968 at Kaiser Hospital in Panorama City. Her parents were Bill and Sharon Martin and she was named after her wonderful paternal grandmother.
Julianna attended Santa Susana Elementary, Sequoia Junior High and Simi Valley High School, graduating in 1986. She then went on to earn her AA degree from Moorpark College.
During high school she worked at Fairway Gardens where she developed her love for flowers.
Julianna worked for PacBell for several years and then switched over to the mortgage industry.
September 26, 2003 was one of the happiest days of her life when she married the love of her life, Robert Reed.
In 2007, when the great recession hit, Juli retired from the mortgage industry and became a homemaker. She was a fantastic cook and spent hours preparing meals for Bob. He often would take the meals to work at the Sheriff’s Station to share with the other deputies. Bob always had a lot of deputies around his desk on nights like that.
Julianna was blessed with a special gift from God and that was the ability to make people laugh. If you were with her for 5 minutes she had you laughing, even if you were just riding up on an elevator. So many of her childhood friends kept mentioning her laughter.
Julianna leaves three brothers: Christopher of Huntington Beach, Gregory (Patty) of Glendora and Tim (Kim) of Aliso Viejo. She was aunt to three special children: Garett of Newport Beach and Hayley and Colin of Aliso Viejo. She also leaves her aunt Nancy, Uncle Tim (Terry) and two special cousins, Colleen and Jessica.
Julianna had two stepsons, Travis (Morgan) and Cody. When Cody was in the Marines, Julianna and Bob opened their home every weekend, when he and his buddies had leave, and made Canyon Country their second home. Travis proudly serves in the Air Force at this time.
This past Christmas was special to Julianna as both of her stepsons plus Travis’ family were able to visit from out of state. Morgan, along with Alyvia, Ainsley and Ava helped to plant flowers at her home and Bob’s gravesite.
Because of her support of the armed forces Julianna spent one Thanksgiving hand making several hundred Thanksgiving cards to be sent to Cody’s group in Afghanistan. Since then she has supported For the Troops in Simi Valley.
On December 16, 2017, Julianna’s world came to a crashing halt as her husband passed away. She struggled with a broken heart for the rest of her life. The song “Smile” pretty much sums up her last year. But, do not forget even in her sadness, she still made everyone laugh.
Services will be at St Peter Claver Catholic Church (corner of Stow and Cochran) on Wednesday, February 6th at 10 AM followed by a reception in the church hall. If you able to attend please wear joyful colors – not black.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to For The Troops.
We especially want to thank the ICU staff at Simi Hospital for the compassionate care given to both Julianna and our family.
The final arrangements are being handled by Rosefamilyfuneralhome.com
