I was Todd's shipmate from 87 to 91 on CVN 70 and my birthday is 11/5/69 we immediately became close friends and ultimately considered eachother brothers. Todd made a point to reach out to me every year on our birthdays, and he always made me feel like my life meant something, his kindness & genuine concern for me as a human being is something that I will always be grateful for. I will never forget the day I stepped foot on NAS Alameda Naval Air Station & met a guy that was born the day before me and in the same city as me, liked the same teams as me and I know now it was no accident I believe God wanted our paths to cross, and I am grateful that they did, I will miss him but never forget him! I will see you on the other side Shipmate!
Sincerley your friend, shipmate, brother,
Obie Jay Spooner.

I met Todd briefly when he came to Chrysalis, referred by the VA. He was memorable and kind and will truly be missed. Prayer and condolences to his family, but especially his children who he spoke of fondly.

My deepest condolences on your loss. Todd was a wonderful, caring, thoughtful and supportive person. I met Todd in May of 2016. We conversed and became acquainted with each other very easily. Part of our conversation regarded our military service, him in the Navy and me in the Air Force. Todd asked if I was in the VA system, to which I said no. He was surprised that I was not, and further that I had no knowledge of the VA benefits available to me since 1968, my discharge after 8 years of service. He became my mentor, and "walked" me through the VA healthcare and VA disability compensation areas with great patience. As a result of his mentoring, I have had very good health care, to include skin cancer surgery, and 6 months ago a total left hip replacement. I am also now receiving VA disability compensation for service connected issues. Todd took me home after my hospital discharge in February of this year.
I am blessed to have had Todd in my life, and owe him a great debt of gratitude. When we first met I was 74 years of age, now am 77 years of age. Todd was eager to share his knowledge of the VA system with many other veterans, some of which I have met. Todd did this with a happy and eager passion, as he truly believed that anyone who served in the military deserved to receive the VA benefits they are entitled to.
I truly regret his passing , especially at such a young age. But the legacy that he left behind will always be a treasured memory. Rest in peace, my friend. My love always.
