Marina Chudler Obituary
Marina Chudler, 99, of Valencia, California passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, on Saturday July 14, 2018, to return to the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father for eternal rest.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at the Northridge Church of the Nazarene on Thursday July 19, 2018, with Pastor Josh Santin officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:00 - 11:00am, Service at 11:00am, and burial services to follow at 12:30pm at Oakwood Memorial Park.
Marina was born in 1918 in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, and her ancestors were of Belgium decent. Marina grew up in Mexico City, and came to the United States in 1945. Upon arrival, the war had just ended and she remembered people celebrating in the streets of Los Angeles. She met the love of her life, Morris Chudler, at a dance on Halloween night that same year. Morris was a World War 2 Veteran, from the Army Air Core, and it was love at first sight. They enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage together, and created a beautiful family built on a foundation of love, joy and faith. Marina loved going on cruises with her husband, spending time with her family, taking annual family vacations to Yosemite National Park, and attending church every Sunday. Known lovingly as "Grandmama" by all the family members, she was loved by all for her firey spirit, her devotion to those she loved, her incredible memory, her wit, her charm and her unwavering faith. She kept herself busy each day by sending a devotional email called "In Touch" to every single person in her family, she considered it her job. Even at 99 years of age, she navigated Facebook like a pro. Her house was always filled with love and family members visiting every day of the week.
Marina is preceded in death by her beloved husband Morris, her daughter Eileen, her grandsons Gary and Tony, her brother Hector and many other loved ones who have passed before her.
She is survived by her children Vernelle, Carol, Susan, Danny, as well as her 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She was adored and loved by all who knew her. She will be missed greatly and never forgotten.
