Esteban Mejorado was born in San Pedro de Azafranes, Municipal De Otaez, Durango, Mexico to Tita Soto and Patricio Mejorado on January 2nd, 1950. Dad loved his ranch growing up and left to the U.S. in search of a more adventurous life. Once here, he happily worked in the Construction industry where he was blessed to go work construction all over Southern California at major attractions such as Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Universal Studios, the Japanese garden as well as large construction projects as far as Nevada and Arizona. Esteban proudly worked as a Cement Mason and Finisher with Cement Masons Local Union 600 up until his retirement.

Esteban is survived by his wife Yolanda, and adult children Patricia, Osbaldo, Ruby, and Perlita.  Esteban was a true family man and brought us all together. He was an amazing dad to us and a wonderful grandfather to Merlin, Bella, June, Abigail, Emily, Thomas, Charlotte, Bruce, and Robyn.

He had Hazel Green eyes and a kind heart and as a result was always making friends wherever he went. His proudest achievement was becoming a father and subsequently, a grandfather. Throughout his life and in his retirement, he enjoyed planting trees and nopal cactus in his backyard. Esteban loved gardening, sitting out near a tree, and being out in the sun. His favorite fruits and vegetables to grow in his backyard were tomatoes, tomatillos, zucchini’s, watermelons, peaches, apples, and pears. He brought his love of his ranch home with him and made sure his family knew how important home-grown food was. He enjoyed treating his family to a backyard batch of freshly cooked carnitas using his secret recipe. Mostly, he just wanted to be around family and see his grandkids grow.

Esteban passed away on October 13, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at his bedside as he made his transition and rose to heaven. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.

We would thank all our family and friends for your condolences and support through the loss of our mother’s husband, our father, and our children’s grandfather. Esteban was the best dad, grandpa, son, uncle, cousin, brother and friend.  We have lost an amazing dad and heaven gained an Angel. We will miss him dearly.

Dad, enjoy walking everywhere and anywhere up in Heaven. Ride your horses and be with your family. We will meet again.  We love you!

Descanse en Paz.
