Obituary of Robert J Hensley
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert J. Hensley died February 26th, two weeks before his 77th birthday after a protracted battle with cancer. He retired as Operations Manager of the Simi Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant after 40 years in the field. A long-time Ventura County resident, he descended from the earliest settlers in Ventura; the Ward, Hall and Valentine/Camarana clans. He is the last Hensley descendent (grandson) of Charlotte Hall and Edward Hensley.
Robert was an avid reader, nature lover, Koi enthusiast and gardener. A happily devoted husband to his beloved Judy for more than 30 years, he was very close to her children, their children and grandchildren. He was a hands-on uncle and great uncle who will be greatly missed.
When he wasn’t in Maui or planning a trip there, you could find him with his other best girl, Annie, in his beautiful garden. He loved nothing more than having all the kids and grandkids to his home for swimming and barbeque in his beautiful yard.
He is in ka lani at the great beach in the sky along with his labs, Annie and Bruno, parents, Ruth and Bill, sister, Diane, and all the Hensleys, Taylors and friends who loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date but please share your memories at RoseFamilyFuneralHome.com. Donations can be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
