Lawrence “Larry” Richard Jackson, 87, of Fort Mohave, Arizona, previously of West Hills, California passed away on January 13, 2016 in Thousand Oaks, California at the Applegate Senior Care Home, surrounded by his family. Larry was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Arthur Lawrence Jackson and Crystal Mildred Patton on June 15, 1928. Larry graduated from Fort Collins High School, Colorado, in 1947. While in school, he was quite the athlete and excelled in track and field. Larry married the love of his life Teri and started a family in Colorado before relocating to California to pursue his career with Litton Industries. Larry loved learning and completed some college and achieved great successes in his career at Litton which began in 1962, and devoted over 35 years and retired as Director of Human Resources. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on trips to Pismo Beach, California. He had a lifelong passion for cars and took pride in owning many, which he restored and kept in mint condition. Larry would often attend car shows, many of which would display his cars. He was President of the River Cruisers Car Club in Bullhead City, Arizona, where he and Teri were members for years. Larry’s passion for cars was contagious and inherited by his sons who both work in the automotive industry. When not at a car show or in the garage, Larry could be found at the gym. Larry’s devotion to fitness continued throughout the years, and he even won numerous medals in the Senior Olympics. Larry enjoyed many outings to Mad Dog Gym and lunches with his friends, the “World Executive Order,” where they would solve the world’s problems. Larry also liked trips to the casino, his wife’s home cooked meals, and pretty much any dessert. Larry is survived by his children and grandchildren. Larry and Teri were married on February 27, 1949 and enjoyed 66 wonderful years together before she passed just six months ago. Larry’s family includes his son Rick and his wife, Kathy Jackson of Chatsworth, California; his daughter Debbie and her husband, Robert Grover of Simi Valley, California, their children Tanya (and fiancé Chris Quinn) and Nicole (and boyfriend Jonathan James); his son Doug and his wife, Alisa Jackson of Santa Clarita, California, their children Kiera and Tyler.
