Obituary of Beverly Ann Taylor
Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of Beverly Ann Merrick Taylor. Born 1/25/1930 in Salt lake City, Utah and passed away peacefully 11/17/2015 in Simi Valley, California. She was the daughter of Anna Francis Fleming and George Eugene Merrick. (Both previously deceased.)
Beverly loved so many of life's simple pleasures. She loved the smiling faces of children, flowers and especially the beach. She had a way of making life so joyful. She would point out blooming flowers, birds in her garden, puffy white clouds, blue sky and how sparkly the pool looked, at the Vanowen Street house. She loved her family, friends, dogs and the horse races. She was friendly with everyone. Her quick wit and hilarious sense of humor is what most will remember about her. Those of us lucky enough to share a cup of early morning coffee with her, will for sure remember how loved she made us feel. She listened. She cared. She was a great sounding board. She always had a kitchen full of kids on those early school mornings. She was cool, hip and with it. She was a giver.
She was a great cook. She baked home made bread. She loved to eat. She loved the feel of the sun on her face. She loved vacations in Utah and fishing with her brothers and Uncle Micky. She loved laughter and all kinds of jokes. She kept her sense of humor to the end. She flipped the bird often. Mostly to make us laugh.
Mom was always up for an adventure. My brother and I called it, " Going on a Safari." Which could have been to the slot car racetrack, a ballgame or searching for ingredients for one of my brother's always noisy creations.
She remained cheerful to the end. She is survived by brothers Bill (Lu) Merrick and Gene Merrick, her husband of 65 years Roy L. Taylor, daughter Jan, son Tracy (Joyce) and beloved, one and only, grandchild Teresa, who was the light of her life.
Her wishes, discussed at length years ago will be followed. (Or she'd come back to haunt us !) Cremation and no service. Her ashes will be spread at a later time both at the beach and through Topanga Canyon, where she took loads of kids in her blue Buick all those summers ago.
I lieu of flowers, mom would say, "Hug your kids. Bring flowers to your wife. Live your life. Love your life !"
