Paul Lawrence (Errero) Hupman, Jr., passed away in Thousand Oaks, California, at the age of 80 on October 31, 2015. He is survived by his son, Larry Hupman, daughter, Laura Hupman, and daughter and son-in-law Heather and Carl Wilson, nine grandchildren (Sarah, Christopher, Hilary, Grant, Jeff, Danielle, Jonathan, Bethany, Justin, and their families), and four great-grandchildren (Isaac, Eliana, Dion, and Hazel). He is preceded in death by his parents Matilda Pasquel Hupman and Paul Hupman, Sr., from Missouri/California, Andy and Julia Pasquel Errero, his brother, Leo Hupman, and June Hupman. Paul was born on December 27, 1934, in Oakland, California to Matilda and Paul Hupman, Sr. After the death of his parents, he and his brother were raised by Mabel Hupman and then by his Uncle Andy and Aunt Julia Errero in Hayward, California. He graduated from Hayward High School in 1952, where he met and married Janice Counce. Paul enrolled in U.C. Berkeley and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1959. In April, 1955, he joined the Army and honorably served. After graduating UC Berkeley, he was immediately hired by IBM as a programmer in 1959. In 1964, he worked in sales for IBM and moved to Hawaii. He married his second wife, June, in 1976. He had three stepchildren, Lori, Janette, and Marilyn. He lived in several California locations including Hayward, Oakland, San Jose, Chatsworth, Castro Valley, and Simi Valley where he resided until his death. Paul was successful in his career and worked for several companies that included Computer Corp., Cybercom, McDonnell Douglas, Technicon, Timeshare, Spectra ,and Wang Laboratories. He was an accomplished salesman who enjoyed his work and took great pleasure in his many accomplishments and friendships. He was known for his quick wit and humor. He was an avid basketball player through high school, UC Berkeley basketball team, the Army, and throughout his life. He was a dedicated Catholic with fond memories of the nuns teaching and playing ball games with him in his Catholic school. He loved sports and music with one of his favorite songs being by Josh Groban, called You Raise Me Up. We rest in that he is raised up by his Heavenly Father now. He was/is loved by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Cremation will take place at the family's convenience and his ashes will be kept in an urn at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, California. Many of the Hupman family relatives are buried here. Everyone who remembers Paul is asked to celebrate in their own way. Instead of flowers, the family hopes that you will donate to a charity in his name or do an unexpected act of kindness in his honor. Remember one of his jokes, one of his adventures and be thankful for his life. We will all miss him. Thank you so very very much!
