H. DARWIN "SPOOK" GROSVENOR DARWIN "SPOOK" GROSVENOR LEFT US PEACEFULLY "TO DANCE WITH HIS MANY ANGELS"ON NOVEMBER 23, 2011 WHILE SURROUNDED BY HIS LOVING FAMILY IN NEWBURY PARK. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW DEEPLY HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL THAT KNEW AND LOVED HIM. DARWIN WAS BORN ON MARCH 2, 1927, IN SUNLAND CALIFORNIA TO HARRY AND LYDIA GROSVENOR. HE ATTENDED SUNLAND ELEMENTARY AND GRADUATED FROM VERDUGO HILLS HIGH SCHOOL IN SUNLAND CALIFORNIA IN 1945 . HE THEN SERVED OUR COUNTRY FOR THE US ARMY DURING WW11 IN JAPAN. HIS TRUE PASSION THROUGHOUT HIS CHILDHOOD AND INTO ADULTHOOD WAS BASEBALL. HE PLAYED PROFESSIONAL BALL IN THE MINOR LEAGUES AS THE STARTING PITCHER FOR THE DODGER FARM LEAGUE . HE THEN WORKED FOR THE COUNTY ROAD DEPARTMENT IN LA CRECENTA UNTIL HE RETIED AT THE AGE OF 55. AFTER RETIREMENT DARWIN AND HIS WIFE BEVERLY GROSVENOR MOVED TO THEIR "HAPPY PLACE" BY THEIR POND IN GRASS VALLEY ,WHERE THEY HAPPILY LIVED OUT THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. DARWIN IS SURVIVED BY HIS DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW MICHELE AND RICK HUCKANS, SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW LARRIE AND DOREEN RHODES, HIS GRANDCHILDREN, KURTIS HUCKANS,BRITTANY HUCKANS, DARREL CRISWELL,DARWIN CRISWELL,MICHAEL AND MANDY RHODES,LAURIE AND MIKE LYTLE, DAVID WARD, GREATGRANDCHILDREN ISABEL HUCKANS , DOMINICK ,JOCELYN, AND PATRICK RHODES, BRANDON AND KAYLA CRISWELL, SAMANTHA AND NICHOLAS LYTLE NEPHEW AND NIECES SCOTT AND ROSEANN STEVENS , SUSAN AND ROBERT UNDERWOOD , SHARON AND SIDNEY KAUFMAN,LLOYD AND LYNN SCHNIEDER, AND LIFE LONG COMPANION AND BEST FRIEND NORMAN GILLIAN. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE BEVERLY GROSVENOR, HIS SISTER DORIS STEVENS, HIS DAUGHTER SHARON LEE RHODES,HIS MOTHER AND FATHER HARRY AND LYDIA GROSVENOR , HIS BROTHER AND SISTER IN LAW LLOYD AND MILLIE SCHNIEDER, BROTHER AND SISTER IN JOHN AND AUDREY HARE, AND LIFE LONG FRIEND LEXI ABERNATHY. DARWIN WAS A LOVER OF SPORTS, FISHING, CAMPING, THE OUTDOORS, AND WAS ALWAYS THE LIFE EVERY PARTY !! HE WAS IN EVERY SENSE OF THE TERM "A COUNTRY GENTLEMAN" AND WAS LOVED BY ALL THAT KNEW HIM. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED, HOWEVER WE ARE ALL BLESSED WITH LOVING MEMORIES THAT WILL BE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. PAPA SAVE A DANCE FOR US WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN
