Robert Manuel Perry, 71, died May 29, 2015, at home in Camarillo, Ca, from pancreatic cancer. He leaves his wife of 20 years, Sarah Perry; his daughter, Danielle Perry, his son, Nicholas Perry, and his aunt Alice Stiles, along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews and close friends. Robert was born in in New Bedford, Mass and was the only child of Manual and Almerinda Perry. After graduating from Dwight Morrow high school in Englewood, New Jersey in 1961, where he distinguished himself as a student-athlete, he attended both Wagner College in Staten Island, NY and the University of Minnesota on football scholarships. He completed his bachelor’s degree and MBA at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Robert moved to the west coast in 1979, and lived in the San Fernando Valley and in the equestrian community of Santa Rosa Valley, California. Mr Perry worked in business during his entire career, and spent over 40 years in the Optical business, the last 35 of which he served as Vice President/General Manager of LBI/Atlantic Optical Company. An avid golfer, Bob was a longtime member of the Camarillo Springs Men’s Club and could be found every weekend prior to his illness on the golf course. Mr. Perry’s passions in life were simple--He loved his children and his wife for whom he worked tirelessly and gave completely of himself. He loved his friends and extended family, who could always count on him to listen, check in, and to remember the details of their lives. He loved his work, and his customers will have remarked just how friendly, straightforward and caring a person he was. And most of all, he loved life. He was an optimist and demonstrated the power of positive thinking to the end--in the face of a devastating and difficult journey with pancreatic cancer. The Rose Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network: https://www.pancan.org/ or Hospice of the Conejo: http://www.hospiceoftheconejo.org/ A celebration of life will be held at the Perry home on Friday, June 19, 2015
