Obituary of LaVonne Stanchfield

Simi Valley LaVonne Roselle Andersen-Stanchfield LaVonne (aka Grammy), age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in her sleep at home in Simi Valley, California, surrounded by her family. She was born in Audubon, Iowa, graduated from Audubon High School in 1942, and the School of Nursing at the State University of Iowa in 1946. She was married in 1950, in Washington, and eventually moved to Southern California in 1951. She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lee and her son, Samuel Stanchfield, her parents, Samuel and Martha Andersen, her sister's Iola Cole, and Elaine Christensen. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Guy Stanchfield, Susan Kay and her husband Steven Patrick, Anneke and her husband Tim Meicher, and Elizabeth and her husband Randy Mundell, her honorary daughter, Val Mathews, and grandchildren, Jesse Stanchfield, Meagan Garris, Joshua Robert, Summer Rose, and Hannah Noelle Stanchfield, Meagan and Ali Patrick, Donald and Krystle Hughes, Mark and Millisa Mundell, great grandchildren Alice, Kamryn, Willow and Kaylee, and her grand-dog, Nicki. A service will be held at the Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran Street, in Simi Valley, California, on Sunday, October 23, 2011. The viewing will be held from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm with services following at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of LaVonne to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
