Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irene Jean Todd was born to the late Anthony and Eugenia Alahuzos on December 30, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. She came to Los Angeles, CA with her family at the age of 2 and grew up in the Pasadena and Alhambra areas with her siblings, Carol, Buddy and Gloria.
She graduated from John Muir Jr. High school in Pasadena and Alhambra Senior High school where she excelled in drama as a talented Thespian who held most of the leading roles in the performing arts of theater and dance. She especially loved to dance the Jitterbug. In her early adult life, Irene held several different jobs which included working as a car hop waitress on skates. She was a devoted daughter who served her parents well by giving them her earnings.
Irene married William L. Allen in South Pasadena on July 24, 1960 and subsequently became the devoted mother to Marc, Michelle and Michael Allen.
Throughout a ten-year time span after her first marriage, God The Father called her to a saving faith in His Son Jesus Christ and sealed her to Himself for all eternity.
Irene had a spectacular work ethic and was well respected by all who knew her and worked with her. She took evening business courses and shorthand classes. She worked for 25 years as a lead Medical Radiology Transcriber (who prayed over all those in her reports) at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA and later for Tri City Hospital in North San Diego County.
Irene married Dale K.Todd on July 12, 1975, in Alhambra, CA and was blessed to enjoy several travel adventures with her husband until he went home to be with the Lord his Savior in April 2004.
Irene was a very artistic person who enjoyed drawing, painting, cooking, baking, dancing, music and singing. She enjoyed the classic movies of her era and she was an avid reader and collector of books. She was an elegant dresser and was meticulous with her accessories. She enjoyed all shopping, and decorating for all the holidays. She had a superb sense of humor with an infectious laugh. She dearly loved and was devoted to her family, second only to Jesus Christ. She had a passionate heart for local and worldwide missions, especially the persecuted church. She was faithful to live out her God given gift of evangelism and to be an intercessory prayer warrior on behalf of all who crossed her path, even up to the time the Lord called her home. She cherished and adored the Word of God (her entire Bible is highlighted) and her Savior Jesus Christ. She committed many Scriptures to memory which she shared constantly with EVERYONE. On July 25, 2014, Irene’s God given Faith has been made sight and she is now rejoicing evermore in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, (2 Corinthians 5).
Irene Jean Todd, is survived by her loving children, Marc, Michelle and Michael; and her loving grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley,Nicholle and Michael Christian. She is also survived by her loving son-in-law, Joseph Biag, her sisters, Carol and Gloria, nieces and nephews, dear friends and her beloved church family.
