Obituary of Maria Guadalupe Aguilar Perez-Medeiros
It is with shattered hearts that we share the passing of our beloved María Guadalupe "Lupe" Aguilar Pérez-Medeiros of Moorpark on February 25, 2025. Lupe was born on January 2, 1959 in Puruándiro, Michoacán, México and touched the lives of many with her love, tenacity, and generosity.
Lupe moved to the United States at the age of 5 and grew up in Simi Valley as the oldest of 9 siblings. She attended Moorpark College and CSUN, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She worked in banking for 20 years, which is where she met the love of her life, Rick, in 1983. The two later dated for 9 months before getting engaged, and they married one year later on September 10, 1988. One year after marriage, they welcomed their son, Michael. Three years later, they had their daughter, Kristina. Lupe later switched careers and worked at Moorpark College for 17 years, and the role she loved most was running their scholarship office.
Though a woman of many talents and passions, Lupe most lived for weekend outings with her husband and children, days spent with her mother, girls nights with her sisters, gardening, shopping and fashion, gift giving, and philanthropy.
An already breast cancer survivor, Lupe courageously fought a long battle with metastatic bladder cancer before her passing. She is preceded in death by her father, Ignacio Sr., and is survived by her husband, Rick; her 2 children, Michael and Kristina; her mother, Ramona; her 8 siblings, Patricia, Elsa, Ignacio Jr., Rosa, Eduardo, Miguel, Lucia, Beatris, and their families. Lupe was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
