Obituary of Juanito Tuquib Palen

In Loving Memory of Juanito “Boy” Tuquib Palen

March 8, 1957 – January 1, 2025

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Juanito “Boy” Tuquib Palen on January 1, 2025, at the age of 67. A devoted husband, loving father, thoughtful grandfather, and cherished brother, Juanito leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.

Juanito was born on March 8, 1957, in Loboc, Bohol, to Gualberto and Ceferina Palen. As a working student, he completed high school in Cagayan de Oro and later earned his Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from Cebu Central College. He served 36 years as a seafarer, providing his family with stability and care through his hard work and perseverance.

On June 23, 1984, Juanito married Julieta, the love of his life. Together, they built a home filled with faith and love, raising four children: Rence Carlenrina (married to Ron, with children Rylee Viktoria and Randall Ian), Juanito Rico (married to Joan, with children Nicole Anne, John Rico, and Julieyah Thaila), Roy Ceasar Ian, and Julie Ann Cecelia.

Juanito and Julieta were active members of their church, dedicating their time to ministries such as Pre-Cana, Marriage Encounter, and the Family Life Apostolate. Juanito was admired for his unwavering dedication, supportive nature, and selflessness as a provider.

In his spare time, Juanito enjoyed reading, watching documentaries, and capturing life’s precious moments through photography and videography. He had a deep appreciation for music, particularly the timeless melodies of old bands like Franz Rhythm and Rondalia. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever.

A viewing will be held on January 14, 2025, followed by a funeral service on January 15, 2025, at St. Peter Claver Church. Juanito will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery.

Juanito “Boy” Tuquib Palen was a man of integrity, love, and devotion. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy will endure in the lives of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
