I met Julia through my friend, Maxine, one of Julia's daughters. I found her to be full of life with a great sense of humor. I always enjoyed the few times I spent with her and Maxine. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out.

I have many fond memories of Aunt Julia; her sense of humor, her smile, and the sparkle in her eyes whenever she laughed. When she saw my chidren, Jon at age 3-1/2 and Shannon at 4 months, she gave them each a book and signed it "Love Your GREAT Aunt Julia"....emphasis on GREAT.

I looked forward to stopping by your house in Matthews every time we drove down south. It was reminiscent of when I would stop by your house on my way to and from school in California. I loved seeing you almost daily and waving to Grandpa on days I didn’t stop. Dillon and Shannon are lucky to have many memories with you in them. Even though you never got to meet Liam, I know you are his guardian angel. We miss you and love you Grandma!! You were the best Grandma.

One of my fondest memories was December 15, 2019 when mom was taking her standard trip to Colorado. She usually came at Thanksgiving, and I went with her to Santa Barbara for Christmas thru her birthday February 3. This time at age 93 she did not want to go out in the snow and airports were hard. I promised her she would not have to deal with the cold and snow. The agent met her at the gate and transported her to our hotel room at the Westin Denver Airport. Cambria and Cailyn joined us for dinner and a sleepover. She watched her ice skate outside the window. We took Cailyn to the indoor pool. Very fun! The Westin was decorated with tons of lights for Christmas with snow on the ground. The next morning we had breakfast, and she was escorted back to the gate departing for sunshine and beach in Santa Barbara. Great start to the holidays! She said she wanted to do that EVERY year! Yes, I spoiled her.
