Obituary of Alice Ramona Garcia
Alice Ramona Garcia (née Miranda) died peacefully in her sleep on June 12, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 89.
Alice was born on August 31, 1934 to Joe and Georgina Miranda and was their only daughter. She was raised in Canoga Park along with her 3 brothers. Alice graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1952, and soon thereafter married Roque Garcia from Van Nuys. Alice and Roque lived in the San Fernando Valley where they raised five children.
Alice built a successful career making custom curtains and draperies for many commercial and private clients, while her husband Roque worked in the equipment rental business. When Alice wasn't working sewing draperies, she was busy raising her 5 children and taking care of her husband who suffered from chronic back problems.
Alice was a devout Christian and long ago accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior. Alice loved her family, especially her grandchildren and would always look forward to being with them. She was a very loving and giving person and would always pray and support others the best that she was able to. She would give you the last dollar in her purse if you needed it.
Alice is survived by her four daughters, Gina, Lisa, Cindy, and Helen, brother Victor, and 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roque, son Roque Jr., her brothers Joe and Albert, her grandkids Richard, Ricky, and Raymond and her parents Joe and Georgina.
A memorial followed by a reception will take place on July 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose Funeral Home in Simi Valley. Her ashes will be placed in a mausoleum service at Oakwood Cemetery in Chatsworth on July 12 at 11:00 am.
