Obituary of Manuel Torrez Montez

Manuel Torres Montez, 89, of Simi Valley, California, passed away on October 29, 2023 in Simi Valley.

A Funeral service will be held at 5649 E Pittman St, Simi Valley, CA 93063 on December 15 at 10am at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA 91311.

Manuel was born in Cucamonga, CA to Esteban and Juana Montez on May 31, 1934. He attended Chaffey College and served in the U.S. Air Force radar installation on the F-102, electronics, and training service members. Manuel worked at RCA and NBC for 37 years in technical operations and service management at Burbank Studios and NBC Sports for over 10 years.

Manuel was married to Bernice Montez for 65 years, Bernice passed away on February 19, 2021.

Manuel is survived by his sister, Arline Bustamante, sons Derrick Montez and Dominic Montez, daughter Simone A. Montez, three granddaughters: Sarah Montez, Maia Montez, and Paloma Montez, three grandsons: Jonathan Montez, Piccaso Montez, and Jonah Montez, and three great-grandchildren: Olivia, Emmett, and Devine Parle, and Dr. Steven Parle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, son, Eric, and siblings Elvira Ornales, Carmen Vasquez, Sally Gonzalez, Manuel Montez, Esteban Montez Jr., Ofelia Aguilar, and Mary Grace Montez.
