My Aunt LeeAnne is the connection to the McLendon side of my Dad’s family. She’s been a Vasquez for a long time but before that, a McLendon. And I know that was important to her. I felt that connection so strongly when I was around her and my cousins Nichole, Blair and Brandon. I loved the energy, the laughs and the comfort of being around her and Uncle Ralph. Some people just have that rare genuine thing about them where you know and feel that they care without even saying words. And she had that. I instantly felt like family in her presence despite any amount of years that had gone by since I last saw her. I always enjoyed and felt comforted being around this side of my family that I didn’t see too often. I felt an unspoken sense that these are my people, and Aunt LeeAnne was the center of that. Her joy and smile was infectious. Unfortunately, the last time I saw her was at her Mom’s funeral, my Nanny. There was such a special bond there and I never would have imagined that would be the last time. I picture her and Nanny up in heaven baking/cooking up a storm and throwing an epic gathering where all feel welcome. I will miss those times so much! Thank you Aunt LeeAnne for leaving a legacy of how to live with joy and love. ❤️ Kristin

I met LeeAnne 34 years ago at home savings. She is the only one I didn’t invite to our wedding because she started just a weeks before the day. Little did I know we’d end up being great friends long after home savings. Thanks to her Greg and I became the youngest members of the “Simi Vally gang.” We had so much fun together, from parties, camping, going to concerts, or just hanging out on the Saturday night. LeeAnne didn’t need much of a reason to have a party, anything from the St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Labor Day, Christmas Eve or just because it was a full moon. LeeAnne was a gracious host. She was always cheerful, welcoming, and a genuine good person all around. I will miss her deeply. I love you, LeeAnne! ❤️

We met the Vasquez family 50 years ago when they moved to their new house in Memphis, and we became neighbors. LeeAnne was considered the most exotic person we knew; introducing us to avocados, artichokes, Spam cooked with tomatoes, and her beloved 280Z sports car. We had so many fun times with Ralph, LeeAnne, Nichole and Blair, and then they moved to California where the adventures continued.
We had many visits between us through the years. We drove out to see them in our converted van soon after they left Memphis, and then traveled with them to Las Vegas, camped with them on a campground in Malibu and visited several times when our youngest son lived close by in San Clemente.
They drove to Memphis for Memphis in May BBQ competition, and our family had a great visit with them. See the picture of the limo picking us up to head to BBQ.
LeeAnne had such a bubbly energetic personality and was so much fun to be with. May she rest in peace, and the memories comfort the family in these difficult times.

LeeAnne & I met in high school when my steady boyfriend started walking her to class. We quickly decided to ditch him & became the best of friends. We even had our sweet 16 birthday party together. We were roommates for a while at University of South Florida & I would cover for her when she stayed out overnight with Ralph.
I was her maid of honor when she & Ralph were married & she was my matron of honor a year later. We shared so many good times & even though we ended up living far apart, we still managed to stay in touch & visited when possible. LeeAnne never forgot a friend & always made time for those she loved. She was truly amazing & will be greatly missed. I’m sure she has earned her wings & is one of God’s newest angels.

We remember all the fun times with our kids on the Simi Valley Swim Team! Ralph and Leanne were the life of the party! We spent many weekends in the bleachers cheering for our children. Loved all the crazy campouts! Leanne's bright smile was never wavering! A true friend to all who met her! Hugs to the family!

I lived next door to Lee Anne & Ralph for 40 yrs. 2 of my favorite memories are coming home & seeing Lee Anne sweaty & dirty, working feverishly in the front yard, looking up with a big smile & “ hello!” That scene usually meant there was a party brewing, & the good times were going to roll! The other is, I can’t see a full moon without thinking of Lee Anne, & if it was feasible, she would have a “full moon” party! She will be missed by so many. May you be resting in peace, dear Lee Anne. Michele

I am LeeAnne’s oldest friend that she has maintained contact with throughout her life. There are so many connections that intertwined our lives.
LeeAnne and I met, at a young age, at Riverside Baptist Church that we attended until going to college. We were in Girls” Auxiliary, choir, Training Union and Sunday School classes together. We attended other church functions like picnics and and Christmas caroling, etc. We also had some sleepovers at each other’s homes. In addition, our mothers were close church friends.
LeeAnne and my deceased husband, Tom, were born in the same hospital on the same day in 1946. Their mom’s were next to one another in a hallway because it was a year after WWII ended and there were no empty rooms. Their mom’s saw each other during that first year after birth. LeeAnne, Ralph and my husband, Tom attended Hillsborough HS; Ralph was 2 years older. LeeAnne and Tom were in the same homeroom throughout HS. By the way, Tom’s mom taught Ralph in first grade.
LeeAnne, Ralph and I attended University of South Florida. Lee and I become ADPi Sorority sisters and were bridesmaids in each other’s wedding. We both graduated with a BA in Education. After graduation and marriage, we ended up living in the same apartment complex where Ralph became the manager. We often visited each other, had dinners together, and gave parties. Nichole was born during this time. As most first time fathers,Ralph was heart stuck with his precious daughter that had a head full of dark hair.
LeeAnne and Ralph moved to Memphis, Tennessee due to a job transfer. That is where adorable Blair was born. We visited them with our young daughter. LeeAnne and I went shopping for shoes for Blair. It was then we realized that Blair had the smallest feet for a year old child. Lee and I sat on the floor laughing because there were few shoes that fit that were not for young babies.
Ralph was eventually transferred to California where they remained. Their desired dear son, Brandon, was born and their family was complete. Tom and I visited them when Brandon was about two years old. There is a story to tell about that visit when the four of us, and Brandon, went site seeing. You will have to ask Ralph if you chose to know what happened.
LeeAnne and Ralph returned to Tampa every year to visit their parents and sometimes to attend high school reunions. LeeAnne dearly loved Florida’s Gulf of Mexico with white sand beaches and the usually calm waters which allowed floating on a raft. She could always be found on the beach at sunset. We vacationed with them for several years at the beach. LeeAnne’s mom eventually purchased a condo on one of the Gulf of Mexico beaches and moved permanently. That became their vacation spot. Side bar: One great vacation away form the beach was when we took the families to Crystal River for several days to scallop. It was a great time for all. LeeAnne and Ralph have said their kids still talk about that vacation.
Even when LeeAnn’s mom moved to an independent living facility, Lee and Ralph were able to visit a mutual friend of ours, who owned a home on Anna Maria Island, for a day and night. LeeAnne was always able to get to her beloved beach and witness a sunset. Sometimes I joined them, other times that spent a night with me.
That is a short overview of a friendship that managed to last for somewhere over 65 years. There are many stories left to tell.
I will close by adding that LeeAnne was much like her mother in that she enjoyed the company of family and friends. She always opened her home to Ralph’s and her friends and to those of their children. All that was really needed was popcorn to, “let the party begin.” LeeAnne had a generous spirit, kind to all who knew her, faithful to her friends and family and lived a life that she enjoyed. Ralph was LeeAnne’s mainstay. Life without her will be a great challenge and adjustment. Thankfully, three loving children will be available to support their dad as he learns to live a different life without his beloved wife.
REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND.

We met Ralph & LeeAnne shortly after we moved into the neighborhood, 1987. Steven had gone across the street to say Hello. Upon his return he said "I just met our neighbors, your going to like her !" And we did. Right a way. LeeAnne had answered the door in her bikini holding a glass of wine and said "Hi there, Come on in !' After that day we were in the "Gang for Life" LOL
So many memories have been made through out the years...... Camping, BBQ's, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Holidays, Road Trips. The list really goes on and on. Sometime just hanging out and having a good "Howl at the moon party"
LeeAnne was instrumental in bringing people together, AWAYS welcoming with a big smile and a even bigger heart.
She will be greatly missed that's for sure.
Love Steve and Janie

Ralph and family. Back in the early 70's, I met Ralph and LeeAnne at the apartment complex we both lived at. Shortly after we met we became the best of friends with numerous weekends spent enjoying Saturday Night Live and splendid meals that sometimes culminated in LeeAnne spontaneously making her famous chocolate pies with the flakiest, most awesome crust. In the fifty years since, even though miles separated us, we remained friends. We will miss you LeeAnne, but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

When I was dating Skip Wusnack in 1988, he suggested a vacation trip to Southern California. We would do some sightseeing and I could meet a few of his friends from his time living in L.A. We stayed with Ralph and LeeAnne Vasquez. I didn’t realize at the time that they were his best friends and I was out on approval from them. Fortunately, Ralph, and particularly LeeAnne, approved of me. Skip proposed soon after we returned home, and I became part of the Vasquez clan of family and friends. 35 years later, I still consider LeeAnne Vasquez my dearest friend. I’m so glad that I live close enough to visit regularly, especially during this last year. I will miss you terribly LeeAnne, but I know that you are happy and whole once more. I hope Skip met you in heaven with a cocktail and an invitation to the big party in the sky.

Leeann was such an amazing mom and friend to those who needed a little extra. My brother and I were latch key kids and Leanne always welcomed us for anything if we needed it. First concert was some heavy metal band where we changed into fun cloths and were driven to the concert. Ralph and Leanne went to a Darrel Hall and John Oats concert and then picked us up after. For a bunch of 14 year olds it was amazing! Leanne was a rock when we lost Julie, we had many meaningful conversations and I feel blessed to have known her. You will be missed! ♥️
