Obituary of Vincent William Amato
Vincent William Amato AKA “Jimmy,” 84, of West Hills, CA, passed away on July 30, 2023 surrounded by loved ones at his home in West Hills, CA.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home on August 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jonathan Mulford officiating.
Vincent was born on a table in the back of his parents’ store in Brooklyn, NY to Salvatore and Giuseppina on September 22, 1938. He went to high school at St Augustine Diocesan High School and graduated in 1957. He went on to earn a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn. He worked as a Project Engineer for aerospace companies; Sikorsky Helicopter, Rockwell International and Boeing where he ultimately retired from after 25 years. He enjoyed playing on softball teams in his early adult years, collecting baseball cards and stocks/options trading. He was passionately pro-life and was a weekly church attender. Vincent is survived by the love of his life and amazing wife Marina of 59 years and children; Susan, David (Lupita), Monica (Paul), Alexandra (Robert), James (Jennifer) and Maria (Ron). Also, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Giuseppina and daughter, Barbara.
