Obituary of Carlos Francisco Guerrero

Carlos Francisco Guerrero of San Fernando Valley, CA, passed away unexpectedly in May of 2022.

A celebration of his life will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. A funeral Mass and burial will take place in the Kansas City area at a later date.

Carlos was born in Gary, IN to Lilia and Javier on June 28, 1981.

He attended high school at Canoga Park High and graduated in 1999. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served for 13 years. He honorably separated from the military in 2012. Carlos later went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University Northridge. He worked for SpaceX and most recently, Honda HPD. 

Carlos loved to spend time with friends and family, laughing and having fun. He was an avid cook and especially liked to grill. He loved hosting family and friends. Carlos went out of his way to help others feel welcomed and included, making friends wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents; son, Andrew (Reseda, CA); siblings, Javier and his wife, Alexandra (Simi Valley, CA); Daniel (Olathe, KS); and Elizabeth and her husband, Michael (Lee’s Summit, MO); and nieces and nephews, Alani, Viviana, Graciela, Gabriel, and Nicholas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Rosalina Gonzalez Urena and Teofilo Gonzalez, Carlos Guerrero, and Connie Guerrero; his aunt, Irene Franco; cousin, Kristy Franco; and brother-in-law, Matthew Gonzales.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the L.A. Vet Center to support the health and mental health needs of our veterans and their families.
