Obituary of Simone Annette Sparks

Simone Annette Sparks , 87, a resident of Westlake Village, CA for 53 years, passed away on May 13, 2022 in Westlake Village, CA.

The burial and funeral service will be held at Pierce Brothers Mortuary 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91362 on June 2, 2022 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Theodore S. Enke of Conejo Koinonia Church officiating. 

Simone was born in San Diego, CA to Raymond and Genevieve Lombard on April 7, 1935. She attended Hoover High School and graduated in 1953. Simone was a gifted teacher and always loved working with children. She owned and operated a preschool called Kiddie College for many years and then went on to work as a teacher and reading specialist for Westlake Montessori School. As a reading specialist she gave the gift of literacy to many children and helped them to develop a love of reading at a young age. She was a vivacious woman who was married to the love of her life Roy for 62 years. She enjoyed time with her family and her grandkids, spending time with her friends, teaching CCD, cruising around on her boat with her beloved Captain Roy, taking her Mustang to car shows where she was known as “Mustang Sally”, Bible study groups, traveling, gardening and playing the harp and piano. She was involved in Conejo Koinonia Church and St Jude’s Catholic Church.

Simone is survived by her 2 sons and their spouses, her niece and nephew, and her 3 grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy Sparks, her children Collete and Paul Sparks, her grandchild Noel Sparks and her sister Mary Louise “Dolly” Lombard and her brother Jean Lombard. Memorial donations may be made to Conejo Koinonia Church, 10 San Antonio Street, Newbury Park, CA 91320. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the amazing caretakers at Leisure Living who provided Simone with an amazing last few years of her life.
