Obituary of Nancy Sue Guiboa

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With profound sadness we announce that Nancy Sue Guiboa has peacefully passed away on January 31, 2022.

Nancy was born in Louisville, KY to Edwin and Marie Fruchtenicht.  She is survived by her sister Sharon Garrett and several nieces and nephews.  Her husband James, 2 daughters and grandkids.

She attended high school in Louisville, KY and upon graduation took night classes at University of Louisville.  She worked at Anaconda Aluminum Company in Louisville, KY and met her husband James Guiboa when he was in the Army.  They married in Louisville, KY and moved to California after he was discharged from the Army.

Nancy worked for Southern California Edison as a customer service representative and had her first child Angie in 1971.  Her second daughter, Natalie, was born in 1975 and shortly thereafter “retired” from SCE to become a full-time mom and homemaker.

She loved watching sports, her grandkids in soccer and softball, the Los Angeles Angels and Lakers.  Along with her husband, Jim, they joined a corvette club for several years, enjoying cruises to the beach, Solvang, etc.

She also enjoyed going to Las Vegas for the shows, food, and gambling.   She loved the beach so much so that Nancy and her family owned beach property where they would often spend their time playing cornhole, BBQing and just hanging out with each other.

Nancy was also a very good cook.  The kids were picky eaters, she would often prepare three or four different meals every night!

And Christmas! Nancy loved Christmas, she had tons of decorations everywhere – even bows on the bottom of the pool table pockets and strings of lights all over the house.  And her biggest hit of all was making homemade cut out Christmas cookies with tons of icing and chocolate chips. Yummy!

She had an easy “go with the flow” attitude and an ever-present smile.

Nancy will truly be missed by all.
