Jody Jennings passed away in Ventura, CA on Sept. 9, 2013.
Jody was born in Wichita, Kansas on Nov. 26, 1929, the daughter of John Carl Jennings and Oma Jane Jennings. She graduated from the Kansas State University, with a B.A. degree in Communications. After college, Jody had a very successful and exciting career as a director in the entertainment industry. She was a member of the Directors' Guild of America, worked along side Huntley and Brinkley and other distinguished TV personalities. She was also involved in making documentaries and advertisements. Jody was a devoted and loving daughter, who cared for her elderly parents for many years. She was a true and treasured friend to many. Jody was well known and respected for extensive volunteer work and the special relationships she made at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Additionally, she took great pride and much enjoyed her memberships in the Westlake Women's Club and in P.E.O. - Chapter T.S.( Philanthropic Educational Organization), both wonderful organizations in which she will be greatly missed.
The wonderful, caring staff at Thousand Oaks Homecare, where Jody was residing, deserve special gratitude, as does her former caregiver of 8 years, Celi. They, along with Jody's friends Jean and Polly and the case management staff at Medical Maze Solutions, truly became Jody's adopted family as she bravely dealt with her health problems and the challenges from Alzheimer's.
Jody was such a very special lady. Her warmth, kindness, and her beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew. Jody will remain in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be planned at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to P.E.O.-Chapter T.S., in memory of Jody.
