Ernesto (“Intsik”) Reniva Luzong, 67, of Santa Clarita, California, passed away at home on the morning of July 18, 2021. The 2nd of 9 children, he was born in Batuan, Masbate, Philippines to Vicente and Natividad Luzong on January 16, 1954. He went to high school at Masbate High School and graduated in 1970. He continued his education, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering from Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) in 1978.  He worked as a supervisor for Interphil Laboratories for 16 years. Later in 1995, he immigrated to the US and worked at CVS Pharmacy as a shift supervisor for 25 years and retired in March of 2020.  During his college years he met his wife, Romana Ramiso. They married in 1981 and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Their children are Diana and Eugene.

Ernesto was kind, thoughtful, gentle, caring, hospitable and loving. He loved spending time with his family. He had a natural talent for cooking and baking. He loved to prepare dishes to share for special occasions or simply just to enjoy during dinner time around the table. He enjoyed the company of his wife, children and grandchildren, and he always had a clever pun to lighten up the room with laughter.

In Ernesto's free time throughout the years, he played basketball and enjoyed bowling. He was famous in the Sourgreen Basketball Team as a point guard. He enjoyed watching US and Filipino sports and would cheer for his favourite PBA players Robert Jaworski, Samboy Lim and Bogs Adornado. When it came to family, Ernesto was always a peace-maker, advocating for the good of all.

Ernesto is survived by his loving wife, Romana Luzong; children: Diana, Eugene and daughter-in-law Jessica; siblings: Edward, Edna, Edina, Edilberto, Editha, Eva, Vicente Jr.; Grandchildren Daphne and Malachi; several cousins, uncles and aunts.
