Obituary of Roy William Stratton

Roy William Stratton was born May 14, 1929 in Oakland, California to Roy Ray and Lucille Rosalie Stratton.  He passed away on Tuesday April 27th, 2021, a couple weeks shy of his 92nd birthday.  Roy spent his formative years in the Hayward, California area.

He was a veteran who served in the United States Airforce as a mechanic, in the maintenance squadron.

Roy married the love of his life, Jo Ellen Vernon on December 12th, 1952 in Corsicana, Texas.

He was a devoted husband for 65 years and was a proud father to Bill and Vicki Stratton, supporting them in their many activities.

In 2012, Roy retired after 55 years working for ACCO.  Roy had an exemplary work ethic and loved going to work every single day, counting many co-workers as lasting friends.

Roy’s favorite pastime was spent at home with family, watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Dodgers.

Roy was known for his quick wit and sense of humor.  He enjoyed teasing and making others laugh with that familiar smile he made. Roy valued and maintained many friendships for a lifetime.

Roy is survived by his son Bill and Granddaughter Lindsay.  He is preceded in death by his wife Jo Ellen, daughter Vicki, his parents Roy Ray and Lucille Rosalie Stratton.

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at Oakwood Memorial Park and Cemetery, located at 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA 91311. Phone 818-341-0344
