Obituary of Donna West

Donna West Beloved wife, mother, sister, and daughter, Donna Jean West, 61, of Simi Valley passed away on July 27th while in hospice care at home with her family at her bedside. Donna was born on July 13, 1952 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She graduated from St. Genevieve High School in Panorama City, California. Shortly after, Donna met her husband of 39 years, Richard West. They raised three children, Renee, Doug and Erin in Newbury Park before moving the family to Simi Valley in 1998. Donna had many different careers in her adult life. Her main objective was to take care of her family, but she picked up different jobs along the way. She was an administrative assistant, IBM dispatcher, waitress-extraordinaire, wallpapered people's homes and taught teens to drive - always with other's interests in mind. In more recent years, Donna took up travelling, white-water rafting, line and square dancing and walking and training her dogs. She was very adventurous and not afraid to try new things, including different cuisines. She had a zest for life that everyone admired, and is apparent by the circle of friends that have surrounded her. Donna is survived by her loving husband, Richard; daughter Renee of San Diego; son Douglas and wife Jennifer of Laguna Niguel; daughter Erin and granddaughter Jordyn of Simi Valley; father Andrew Aunchman of Canoga Park; brothers Paul of Valencia, Mark and wife Doreen of Spring Valley, and Craig and wife Crystal of Lancaster as well as sister Karen Dominguez and husband Dan of Lancaster. Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline (Le Francois) Aunchman. A Celebration of Life will take place on August 9th, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran St, Simi Valley, CA 93063.
