He was a wonderful man and an incredible chiropractor. He went above and beyond to heal the body as a whole. We had many wonderful conversations and I will never forget all that he did for me and my family.

Missing David today. He always called to share his excitement over his HIGH HOLIDAY. So many fun memories of him and counting down the days until Ground Hogs Day! What a goofball he was!

Thinking of David today on Ground Hog day. I was a front office person in the late 80's in David's practice in Santa Monica. Showing up at the office everyday never felt like work, we had a lot of fun. He was a great employer and a great friend.
RIP David.

Now 2 years later I still have a sad place in my heart for my friend and best chiropractor ever. And yes, Groundhog Day will never have insignificance since David made it a “National” holiday. Love you.

I knew David as a fellow UCSC student. He posted a drawing of a large bird captioned "The Great Bustard“ outside his dormroom door, earning the nickname "Great Bustard". I'm so sorry he is gone.

I just found out about David’s passing. I’m stunned. We conversed on myriad subjects for 20 years and managed to get in a few adjustments as well. In all our conversations, I never heard about his remarkable life I just read about... he never made our time about him. I was so fortunate to have known him. He will be missed.

David was my family's practitioner for over 15 years. He was a part of our family.
David was a true healer. He cared deeply about his patients and he was a master at his practice. He was a true magician who made our pain disappear with one or two sessions. Any time any of us, including my children, had pain anywhere in our joints, shoulders, or backs, we would say, "I need Doctor Hersten." He would not charge children under the age of 18 and he often would open his practice on a Sunday for an hour to take care of us when it was needed.
We will all miss him terribly. Our life is emptier in his absence.
