Obituary of Ralph Flick

Ralph was born in Cresson, PA in 1919. He passed away peacefully on May 29, 2011 He received his degree in engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology, and immediately after graduation served in the Army during World War II in the engineering corp as an officer. During the war, among other places he was stationed in India. After the war he married Elizabeth Ann and had three children: Paul, Greg, and Camille. He also had seven grandchildren: Sarah, John, David, Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Bryan, and Elizabeth and two great-grandchildren: Emma and Jack. During his career Ralph designed the first air-conditioning system for Ford. Later he worked in the missile program, the Gemini program, the Apollo program, the Space Shuttle, and the new breeder reactor. He enjoyed building and remodeling his own home and worked on this for years before and after his retirement. His son, Paul, completed this home and still lives there. Dad was a wonderful father. He loved his wife and his children faithfully. Most of what we have today is because of his perseverance in teaching and guiding us. He touched many lives and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Buena Vista Hospice Care 143 Triunfo Canyon Rd., Westlake Village CA 91361; or Our Community House of Hope 509 Raindance St, Thousand Oaks CA 91360 A vigil service wiil be held at Rose Family Funeral Home Chapel on Friday June 10, 2011 at 7 pm, mass will be celebrated at St Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Thousand Oaks on Sat June 11, 2011 at 10 am with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.
