Obituary of Raul Relles
Raul Relles Sept 19, 1931 – July 16, 2019
Raul Relles passed away peacefully sleeping West Hills home 7-16-19 at the age of 87.
He was born in Lockport, Ill to Refugio and Guadalupe Rangel. He attended King’s College before enlisting in the USMC. He served his country for 9 yrs and was in the Korean War. He married his late wife Joann Carol in 1954. He retired from Caltech in 1992 where he worked in the Earthquake Research Lab.
He is survived by his second wife Cher Relles and by children from his first marriage, Roy Relles and Gloria, Linda Judd and Paul, Rick Relles, Ron Relles and Melinda, Randy Relles and Donna. Step children Natalie Yamashita and Joe, and Kirk Yamashita.
His grandchildren Andrea and Darren, Emily, Ryan, Cole, Joshua and Paige, Matthew, Zachary, step grandchild Tyler, great granddaughter Eden, his brother Joel and wife Nancee, sisters Eleanor Mora and husband Fausto, Maria Janet, Lupe Relles and many nieces and nephews.
Raul is preceded by his late wife Joann Relles, Parents Refugio and Guadalupe, Brother Salestino, and Sister Margarita.
He loved God, his family, the Marines, singing, his plants and traveling.
Memorial service will be held on Friday 7/26 at 1:30 PM at the Bridge Bible Fellowship 18644 Sherman Way Reseda, CA 91355.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Bible Society-Troops and Veterans, 101 North Independence Mall East FL8 Philadelphia, PA 19106-2155.
