Obituary of Mary Thorne

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Etta Thorne was born to Meade and Rachael Chamberlain on December 2, 1931. Her father was a dairy farmer and her mother was a school teacher. Meade and Rachael packed their 3 daughters ( Mary, Kathryn and Edith) into their old car and traveled cross country from New York to California in search of work during the great depression and settled in Sun Valley. Mary met Howard Theodore Thorne Jr. "the love of her life" in high school. They married and raised 2 sons and 1 daughter. Glenn Howard Thorne, Jeffrey Charles Thorne and Susan Rachael Thorne, all of whom she adored. Howard and Mary enjoyed doing everything together. They became very good at wine making , which they happily shared with friends and family. As a team they received many awards including several gold medals from the California state fair and awards in many other competitions. Mary and Howard were happy just being with each other and the simple things in life. Sadly Mary lost Howard in 1992 but kept her vows gladly. Mary filled her days with puzzles, gardening, and her children. Watching humming birds lightened her heart and gave her great joy and faith. Mary rejoined Howard on march 18, 2013 when she passed away in her sleep at home in bed as she wished. To be with dad again forever was her fondest wish! A more loving and beautiful couple than Howard and Mary Thorne has never walked this earth or entered the gates of heaven. They are both very very deeply missed by those who knew and loved them. Sweet mother Mary your with us always and forever.
