Obituary of Karma Pincock

Please share a memory of Karma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On January 31, 2013, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away after struggling with Alzheimer's disease for nearly 20 years. An only child, Karma was born on July 18, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ione and Junius Robinson. Although she spent the first few years of her childhood in Utah, she grew up in Washington D.C. In 1946, she married a handsome, young Georgetown dental school student, Lowell Pincock. During the early years of their marriage, they lived in Minnesota, New York and San Diego. When Lowell was ready to start his oral surgery practice, they settled in Santa Barbara, where they made their home for 45 years. Karma loved raising her family there. Among the women of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Karma was known for her leadership, as well as her public speaking and teaching skills. She and Lowell dedicated 18 months to teaching the gospel and providing leadership on an LDS mission to Bermuda. Karma is survived by her husband Lowell, her children Madeline Winmill (Richard), Jim Pincock (Kathy), Sylvia Gale (Roger), Alice Peterson (Bob), 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation at 9:00 in the Relief Society room, at the LDS church located at 5028 Cochran Street in Simi Valley. Karma will be buried at the Santa Barbara Cemetery located at 901 Channel Drive at 2:00 on the same day. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation (www.ALZinfo.org).
