Obituary of Maria Elizondo

Maria de Jesus Elizondo, aged 83, went home to be with Jesus on November 5th, 2012. Maria died peacefully at Moore Park Care Center, surrounded by loving family after a brief struggle with various health issues. Maria de Jesus was born May 10th,1929 in Tuscaquesco, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Vicente and Carmen Perez. The daughter of a mariachi violinist campesino, Maria, thoroughly enjoyed music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice that could be heard daily as she busied herself around the house. Her trees, plants and flowers, especially her roses, always brought her great pleasure. Maria's most honored accomplishment was being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Maria could always be found surrounded by loving family. In 1952, Maria de Jesus met the love of her life, Angel Elizondo. Besides their language of love, Angel used a translation book to whisk her off her feet and to the United States where they were married in 1954. Most of her life was lived in Pacoima, California where she and her husband raised their five children. Maria Elizondo is survived by her children, Miguel, Bertha, Eleanor and Carmen; two sisters, Pompeya and Estela; countless grand children, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Maria Elizondo was pre deceased by her husband, Angel and son Carlos. There will be a viewing at Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran St. Simi Valley on Friday, November 9th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm. The church service to celebrate the life of Maria de Jesus Elizondo is scheduled for 12:00 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church 13955 Peach Hill Rd. Moorpark on Saturday, November 10th. Burial will follow at the San Fernando Mission Cemetary. A heartfelt thank you from her children for all the prayers and comfort from those who have touched our lives and the life of our beloved Mother, Maria.
